What to Expect

PREPARING FOR YOUR PET’S VISIT.

We want you to feel informed and comfortable from the moment you arrive. Our team will review your pet’s history, perform a thorough examination, discuss recommended diagnostics or treatment options, and walk you through the next steps with care and clarity.

Our Promise. Every Visit.

Thank you for entrusting the MarQueen Veterinary ER & Specialty with the care and treatment of your beloved dog or cat. We strive to provide your dog or cat with both the highest quality and the most compassionate veterinary care possible.

Prior To Your Appointment

Fill out the New Patient Form that can be found under the New Patients tab.

As a courtesy to our other patients, if you need to change your appointment time, please let us know at least 24 hours prior to your visit.

If your pet is having a surgery, ultrasound, or endoscopic procedure, please confirm instructions for recommended fasting prior to your pet’s scheduled visit.

The Day Of Your Appointment

Please bring any medications/supplements (or a list of such medications/supplements) that your pet is currently taking, both over-the-counter and prescribed.

If your pet may stay for more than 24 hours and they are on a home-cooked or special diet, please bring enough food to feed them during their stay. We do carry several premium prescription diets and some non-prescription options for hospitalized patients if you choose not to bring food for your pet.

Expectations For Your Appointment

Your pet’s weight and vital parameters will be assessed on arrival and a physical examination will be performed. Any case history, lab work, and/or radiographs (x-rays) sent from your pet’s primary care veterinarian will be reviewed.

The doctor will then discuss their findings with you and together, we will come up with a treatment plan that is best for both you and your pet. An estimate for the treatment plan will then be shared with you for review.

Discharge Of Your Pet From Our Hospital

Upon completion of your dog or cat’s consultation, diagnostic procedure, hospitalization, or surgery, your dog or cat’s primary care veterinarian will receive a complete written report regarding the care and management of your dog or cat and the diagnostic results from any testing performed.

Prior to your dog or cat’s discharge from our hospital, a member of our medical team will review any discharge and medication instructions with you and answer any questions you may have. Your final invoice will also be provided.

Payment Options

A deposit will be required for any patient admitted to the hospital. The remaining balance will be due at the time of discharge. We accept all major credit cards as well as Care Credit and Scratch Pay.
